Open Source

I think the best part of the Linux experience has been the introduction to the open source world. I love it. From CMS (Content Managment Systems), to blogging software, to server admin panels and database tools. I want to try them all. LMAO. I also try to beta test anything that I can and help out in some way. I used the beta version of Firefox 3 for about 2 or 3 months before it came out. I wish I could give more, but until I learn how to code something other than websites, that’s about all I can do.

The only one I have tried so far is this WordPress blog. It has been a very nice piece of software. It makes publishing content on a website very easy. Just go find what you want, copy and paste the quotes you are writing about, and type in what you want to write. It has a full featured text editor with text formatting, media upload, auto save, and a shortcut to drag and drop to you bookmarks or favorites to make blogging content from the web even easier. That is just a few of it’s many features.

I am going to try out some other software like phpMyAdmin, MovableType, and Drupal for starters. Once I have gotten a feel for them, I will post my thoughts.
