Sniper, it warms my heart and brings a smile to my face to see I have gotten so much emotion from you.

No emotion from me other than you are basing everything on speculation.  I have never argued that open carry is better than concealed carry.   I may choose to carry openly one day, and then concealed another, depending on the environment I am in.  But it is my choice.

You think you have got me up in arms about this, you are wrong.  It makes no difference to me one way or another if the law passes.  I still have my current right to carry.

I've said that from day one.

I'm putting the burden of proof on you, to provide any factual evidence that shows that open is worse that concealed.  Other states outside of TX already have the open carry law.  So go read their arrest reports, or the stats in their states to show me they have had and increase in crime.  You can't and you won't, you will continue to only preach your opinion only.  And again, that is how bogus laws get passed.  PURE speculation.

And you won't change my opinion on this topic at all.

I am an advocate for freedom of choice, nothing more nothing less.  The law should not prohibit me from carrying openly if I have gone through proper training and proper background checks.  If I feel the need or desire to carry openly.

One other thing, you stated back to krakr, "I seriously doubt you believed all my arguments are stupid"

I find that hilarious, cause you seem to never once mention that either my arguments nor Krakrs arguments hold any merit.  But we are supposed to credit yours with merit.

I love it.  No wonder this country is going to hell in a hand basket.  Freedom and liberty are a fragile thing, but man kind doesn't know how to deal with it, and actually live free.

West Allis man not guilty in open carry gun case

Quote
West Allis - As Brad Krause planted a tree in his yard last summer, a neighbor noticed that in addition to a shovel, Krause had a tool not usually required for yard work - a gun in a holster.

Police arrived and gave Krause a ticket alleging disorderly conduct, launching a case that a national gun-rights group has been watching for months.

On Tuesday, Krause won acquittal in what some advocates say is one of the first so-called open-carry gun cases heard in a Wisconsin court.

Municipal Judge Paul Murphy said he had reviewed several state statutes and court cases related to the right to keep and bear arms. "There being no law whatsoever dealing with the issue of an unconcealed weapon or the so-called open carry is why we're here today," Murphy said.

In the end, he determined Krause's actions did not rise to disorderly conduct and found him not guilty.

Quote
Asked why he was carrying a gun to plant a tree, Krause said, "There's no requirement to justify why you're able to exercise constitutional rights. I and everyone else are able to go to church, they're able to vote, they're able to speak their mind. Even though the city might not like it, we have that right."

Smart court.  This guy was on his own property in his own yard and had every right to carry.

Now then... walking down the street with it open, going to the local park - that could cause public concern (and should IMO).

However, carrying it in his own yard, and then pointing at his neighbors - that would be a threat (but I understand from the story he wasn't doing that).

Good story.  Good ending.

Here's one for Oklahoma gun laws:
