Thats the Clone Wars movie which will start the series... Lucas has very little to do with this project so it should be decent...

`Clone Wars' revives old-style `Star Wars' fun

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - A tinge of Anakin Skywalker's coming dark side clearly is visible in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." Yet the animated adventure mostly harks back to the fun, swashbuckling times of the original "Star Wars" trilogy.

Lucasfilm Animation, which screened the movie Tuesday for The Associated Press in advance of its Aug. 15 theatrical release, has crafted a movie nicely tucked in to Anakin's early heroic days, before his transformation into the evil Darth Vader.

Along for the ride are noble-hearted clone soldiers with the camaraderie of Marine grunts, inept android warriors as idiotic as the Three Stooges and a young protege who rivals Anakin for cockiness and affectionately calls him "Sky Guy."

The Anakin in "Clone Wars" is a hybrid of Luke and his rascally ally, Han Solo, Filoni said.

"He's cocky like Han, he can do a lot of things like Han, he's clever with machines like Han. But he's naive like Luke. The whole galaxy is a bit overwhelming," Filoni said.

Wanker, have you seen the movie yet? I been hearing bad things, but I aint seen it yet. George might have had more to do with it than he let on. I'm pretty sure that someone said, it's got a queer Hutt in it that speaks english instead of huttese. I know you probably think I'm joking, so I'll try to dig up the link and post it here. They said, the hutt was so over the top, it makes Jar-Jar look cool. LMAO

I been hearing mixed reviews of it, but that it is bad story telling. Here is a quote from a guy at this movie forum I frequent.

The lack of a text crawl was a BIG omission to me. I could have dealt with it if it had just gone missing. But to have some guy narrate with his BIG. RADIO. VOICE! seemed insulting to me. It basically said, "Kids, we know you aren't big readers, so here's a loud guy to explain everything to you!"

The whole false drama set up with "Stinky" the Hutt being sick and their need to get him medical attention. Then they get on some bucket of bolts ship, consult a medical droid hologram that points them into the direction of a pill - ONE PILL - that magically makes him all better. It's a huge cop out and just shitty storytelling.

The battle sequences - especially the Jedi duels were COMPLETELY uninspired. I mean, here's your big opportunity to do things entirely outside the realm of physical limitations and REALLY show us some down and dirty shit with the force and it's the same grinding of lightsabers and nothing else. No creative use of the environment, not even any super running when the run away from the destroyer droids like they did in Ep. I
There was NO creativity on display here.

Things like a simplistic plot or rote dialogue I can forgive to an extent because if the movie is pitched at kids, you need to play more to their speed. But there is no excuse for a lack of creativity especially in an animated movie.

Some people seem to think that this movie should be graded on a curve because it's meant for children. Well, if it's meant for kids, it's meant for the dumbest fucking kids on Earth! Because even an eight-year-old wouldn't fall for this shit.

It was one giant missed opportunity in my eyes.

I just caught the end of one of the new Clone Wars episodes. It didn't seem all that bad, though I only caught the end of it. Obi-Wan and the whole gang were fighting General Grievous, who was part of a team in small fighters, creating a distraction so his big frigate ship could make the jump to hyperspace. But the sneaky Anakin pulled his old "haha, I disabled your hyperspace" trick, that he's famous for. Although, this time he also programmed it to change the trajectory of the ship when hyperspace is engaged to crash in to the moon they were orbiting. Darth Tyranus contacts Grievous on the holo-projector and asks him if he and his team had escaped. Grievous was so pissed after seeing his ship crash in to the moon, he just hung up on him.

Could you imagine what would happen if someone just hung up on Darth Vader? Probably not, because I don't think there is anyone in the Star Wars universe to do something that stupid.

It is on Friday's @ 8pm on Cartoon Network.

I just placed The Clone Wars movie in my Queue at the top of my list. Once I mail back a movie  I already got it will come next so I should have it by Friday or Saturday, so I will tell you what I think about after that...
